In the wake of reports suggesting King Charles’ purported steps against Meghan Markle and Prince Harry following their recent trip to Nigeria, Meghan has seemingly issued a response, affirming her determination to revisit the country with her family.
Amidst claims that King Charles was ‘furious’ over their Nigeria trip and allegedly attempting to prevent future invitations from the Commonwealth, Meghan appears undeterred as she expresses her intentions to return to Nigeria alongside Prince Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet.
In a letter addressed to Oluwu of Iso, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, Meghan conveys her gratitude for the warm welcome to Nigeria and underscores the significance of their visit in exploring her heritage, which extends to their children.
Meghan writes, “Our visit to Nigeria was important for many reasons, but not least because it gave us an opportunity to explore and understand my heritage, which extends to our children.
We look forward to coming back home one day.”
Further, Meghan expresses deep appreciation for the bestowed Yoruba name, Adetokunbo, and pledges to carry it with grace and dignity.
She states, “I am deeply humbled by your blessing of the traditional Yoruba name, Adetokunbo. I treasure the name and appreciate your trust in me to carry it with grace and dignity.”
Meghan and Harry’s trip to Nigeria in early May, albeit without their children, reportedly sparked controversy within royal circles.
Royal expert Tom Quinn claimed that King Charles was angered by the visit and was taking measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
As Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to navigate their post-royal lives, Meghan’s response signals her resolve to honor her heritage and maintain connections with communities worldwide, despite potential opposition.
