Life is different for athletes than it is for the average person. To the former, thinking of retirement is nothing short of a nightmare while the latter anticipates and looks forward to it. To Jason Kelce, the former center of the Philadelphia Eagles, who announced his retirement from the game after 13 seasons a few months ago, life after football has been a struggle.

The reason is simple, Jason Kelce‘s life revolved around the game of football for over a decade, thereby his habits and lifestyle are accustomed to it. To suddenly walk away from it is far from easy. He revealed his experience via the New Heights podcast with his brother Travis Kelce. At this point, he decided to give his brother a heads-up.

You’re going to feel it once you’re out, Trav. Once it’s all over. Jason told Travis Kelce to enjoy it while it lasts.

He speaks from experience and at this moment, Travis felt obligated to step in and remind his brother that he still has a lot of football left in him.

That’s never happening. No way, not after hearing that, man. That’s not for me. Travis Kelce quickly chimed in
This has to be great news for the fans of the Chiefs.

Travis Kelce intends to continue to play football for a long time
The 34-year-old tight end for the team recently signed a new contract for two years worth $34.25 million which makes him the highest-paid player in his position. Although he is fast approaching the age where tight ends and receivers begin to embark on a decline, he has continued to stay consistent and has made it crystal clear that he is the best at what he does.

When he does decide to walk away from the game, he will do so as one of the greatest tight ends of all time. The legends of the game including the likes of Rob Gronkowski have given Kelce his flowers. For now, Travis is not contemplating retirement, he is living life as he is dating Taylor Swift and will soon be hoping to make history with the Chiefs as he hopes to win three consecutive Super Bowls together.

For Jason Kelce, life after retirement means an opportunity to wind down. He has already found the next chapter of his life. He will transition into the media space with a gig to join ESPN on its Monday Night Countdown. In addition to that, he has continued to serve as a veteran leader for his team and continues to help the younger generation of Eagles.
