Jennifer Lopez Seemingly Addressed Those Ben Affleck Divorce Rumors With One of Her Old Songs
Jennifer Lopez is celebrating the anniversary of her Spanish song “Cambia El Paso,” and while that might seem like an un-newsworthy statement on its own, the lyrics seemingly hold a deeper meaning now given the current state of her relationship with Ben Affleck.
On Sunday, Lopez shared a clip from the track’s music video on Instagram, in which she dances around on the beach wearing a crystal-encrusted bikini top and denim cut-off shorts while singing about a man who’s undeserving of her love.
“He doesn’t deserve to have her in his arms / She knows that, she knows that,” the intro begins, before launching into the first verse that reads: “Her life is better now without him / She knows that her hips don’t fail her / She doesn’t need anyone to be well / She doesn’t fail, she doesn’t fail.”
The dance anthem was first released in 2021, a few months following her breakup with Alex Rodriguez, and the current timing of this celebration has made fans suspicious.
Reminding Lopez to follow her own advice, one person wrote in the comments section of her post, “If something’s not feeling right, whatever it is in your life, just make that change, move, and dance.”
Meanwhile, another shared a similar sentiment, adding: “Change the path!!! Just keep pushing through and make that change.”
As rumors of an impending divorce continue to loom, Lopez and Affleck recently spent several days apart over Fourth of July weekend.
She was in the Hamptons with friends, while the actor stayed back in Los Angeles and spent time with his three children—Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and 12-year-old Samuel—whom he shares with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
“Jen and Ben have been living separate lives but have not officially separated yet,” a source previously told Entertainment Tonight about Bennifer’s relationship status. “At this point, they are just doing their own thing. They went into their relationship very optimistic and thought things could change, but they haven’t.”
