He’s on the world’s biggest podcast, but Jason Kelce just made a stunning admission about its record-breaking success
In a heartfelt and unexpectedly candid revelation, NFL legend Jason Kelce has opened up about his genuine fear during the early days of New Heights, the wildly successful podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Travis Kelce.
Despite the show’s meteoric rise to the top of global podcast charts, Jason revealed that one particular episode nearly made him doubt everything.
Speaking during a recent behind-the-scenes chat, Jason admitted that there was one episode in particular that carried immense pressure — and if it had failed, he said, “we would’ve felt really bad.”
The retired Philadelphia Eagles center, known for his humor and larger-than-life personality, confessed that the fear of letting people down weighed heavily on him.
> “You never really know what’s going to work,” Jason said. “When we started New Heights, it was just two brothers talking about football and life.
But when that one big episode came up, there was this feeling like—‘If this doesn’t land, maybe people won’t stick around.’ It was nerve-wracking.”
Surprisingly, Jason didn’t credit himself or even his superstar brother, Travis, for the podcast’s massive success. Instead, he gave all the praise to the fans — the loyal “92%ers” who have turned New Heights into more than just a podcast, but a community.
> “It’s all because of the listeners,” he said. “They’re the ones who share the clips, who make the memes, who talk about it every week. Without them, we’re just two guys talking to each other. The fans made this what it is.”
Since launching in 2022, New Heights has shattered records, topping Spotify and Apple Podcast charts and drawing millions of views on YouTube each week.
What started as a side project has become a cultural phenomenon, blending humor, sports insight, and the unfiltered brotherly banter that fans can’t get enough of.
Jason’s humility struck a chord with audiences, showing a more vulnerable side of a man often celebrated for his toughness on and off the field.
It’s a reminder that even in success, doubt and gratitude can coexist — and that behind the laughs and viral moments, the Kelce brothers have never lost sight of what matters most.
As Jason put it best:
> “We never wanted it to be about us being famous or trying to be perfect. We just wanted to be real—and somehow, that’s what people connected with.”
And that authenticity, more than anything, may be the true secret to New Heights’ record-breaking success.
