UPDATE: After the Photo was given to him, Donald Trump Announces He Will Appeal Federal Court’s Sweeping Ruling Ordering Compensation for ACECO Demolition Company and Immediate Reconstruction of the White House East Wing After Judges Declare the Demolition Illegal and in Violation of the Federal Preservation Act
In a rapid escalation of the ongoing East Wing controversy, former President Donald Trump announced late Tuesday that he will appeal the federal court’s sweeping order requiring him to compensate ACECO Demolition Company and begin immediate reconstruction of the White House East Wing.
The ruling came after judges reviewed newly submitted photographic evidence confirming that the demolition occurred without proper authorization, a violation of the Federal Preservation Act.
The court determined the action “reckless, unlawful, and historically destructive,” ordering full financial restitution and an expedited rebuilding mandate.
Trump, moments after being shown the photo that influenced the court’s decision, dismissed the ruling as “politically motivated” and vowed to “fight it all the way up.”
ACECO representatives say they are prepared to enforce the judgment, while federal officials emphasize that restoration of the damaged historic structure “cannot be delayed.”
