10 Minutes Ago: Donald Trump announces he will challenge the federal court’s ruling ordering compensation to ACECO Demolition and immediate reconstruction of the East Wing, following judges’ declaration that the demolition violated the Federal Preservation Act.
Former President Donald Trump has vowed to appeal a federal court’s decision ordering him to compensate ACECO Demolition and begin immediate reconstruction of the White House East Wing.
The ruling, issued earlier today, found that the demolition was carried out in clear violation of the Federal Preservation Act, citing “unauthorized destruction of protected historical property.”
Trump blasted the judgment as “politically motivated” and claimed he had “full authority” for the demolition.
ACECO Demolition, which has remained largely silent throughout the controversy, is now legally positioned to receive substantial damages pending Trump’s appeal.
The Justice Department has not commented on whether it will seek enforcement measures if Trump refuses to comply, setting the stage for a high-stakes legal showdown.
