“On Saturday, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were captured by Delta Force at their home in Caracas and brought to New York. Trump watched the operation unfold in real time from the bunker in his basement at Mar-a-Lago,” said Kimmel, pulling up an image of Trump doing just that.

“You can see there he is with Hegseth and Marco Rubio… This mission was called Operation Absolute Resolve which is a title that was definitely generated by ChatGPT,” continued Kimmel. “Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world, especially now that Diddy is locked up.”

“And so after months of escalation, Trump decided Maduro had to go and yes he’s a criminal and a dictator who’s driven his country into financial ruin while he and his family have lined their own pockets but Maduro is no saint either!”

Kimmel’s joke really drive to the heart of the matter here. Even if Trump hadn’t undermined his own smears about Maduro’s alleged drug trafficking by admitting that this raid was about seizing Venezuela’s oil, he wouldn’t have a leg to stand on here.

Nobody outside of the MAGA cult believes that Trump stands for law and order. He’s a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, and lifelong conman.

This was a naked resource grab that also doubled as red meat for a Republican base that loves displays of violent cruelty and strongman fascism.

If Maduro belongs behind bars, so does Donald Trump.
