BREAKING: A group of the top military lawyers in America, The Former JAGs Working Group, just called for an investigation of Pete Hegseth for war crimes, and MURDER. They are also encouraging ALL troops to disobey his illegal orders.
In a dramatic and unprecedented move, the Former JAGs Working Group—a coalition of retired Judge Advocate General officers—released a statement today calling for a full federal investigation into alleged unlawful actions attributed to Defense Department adviser Pete Hegseth.
The group claims that a series of recent directives issued under Hegseth’s influence may constitute serious violations of military law.
Their letter, addressed to congressional oversight committees, urges lawmakers and the Pentagon to immediately examine what they describe as “grave breaches of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.”
While the group did not release specific evidence publicly, they argued that the allegations were severe enough to warrant urgent scrutiny.
They also took the extraordinary step of advising active-duty personnel to refuse any directive they believe to be illegal, stating that troops “have an obligation under U.S. military law to disobey unlawful orders.”
The Pentagon has not yet issued a response, and representatives for Hegseth have dismissed the claims as politically motivated.
Legal analysts note that it is rare for retired JAG officers to issue such a forceful public statement, underscoring the seriousness with which the group views the situation.
Congressional leaders are expected to determine in the coming days whether hearings or a formal inquiry will be opened.
