BREAKING: Devastating Loss for the Kelce Family: Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce Confirm Kylie Sister Aubrey Tragically Died in Texas Hill Country Floodwaters

In a heartbreaking turn of events, NFL legend Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie Kelce have confirmed the tragic passing of Kylie’s younger sister, Aubrey McDevitt, who was swept away in the raging floodwaters that have engulfed parts of the Texas Hill Country following days of relentless storms.
Aubrey, 28, had been visiting friends in Kerrville, Texas, for the long holiday weekend when the flash floods hit the area with devastating force.
According to local authorities, Aubrey’s vehicle was found submerged late Sunday evening, hours after she was reported missing. Despite desperate search-and-rescue efforts, her body was recovered early Monday morning.
The Kelce family released an emotional joint statement early Tuesday:
> “With shattered hearts, we confirm the loss of our beloved Aubrey. She was more than a sister — she was a bright light, a fierce friend, and a beautiful soul whose laughter lit up every room. We ask for prayers, privacy, and compassion as we try to navigate this unimaginable loss.”
Kylie, who has often spoken publicly about the close bond with her siblings, has been described as “inconsolable” by family friends.
Aubrey was the youngest of the McDevitt sisters, a recent graduate student and an advocate for environmental conservation, known for her vibrant personality and passion for outdoor adventures — a love that tragically placed her in harm’s way during one of Texas’ most deadly flood events in recent years.
Jason Kelce, retired Philadelphia Eagles center and current sports analyst, has also stepped back from scheduled appearances this week, including a planned podcast with brother Travis Kelce.
Travis is reportedly “by his brother’s side,” and Taylor Swift, currently on her international tour, is said to have reached out personally to support the family.
Texas officials have confirmed at least 12 fatalities linked to the flash floods, which have left multiple communities in central Texas devastated. The National Weather Service has issued continued flash flood warnings, urging residents to stay indoors and avoid low-lying areas.
Aubrey’s passing has sent ripples through both the NFL community and beyond, with an outpouring of condolences flooding social media. Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, and numerous teammates and celebrities have shared their grief, with hashtags like #RememberAubrey trending across platforms.
The Kelces have asked that donations be made in Aubrey’s honor to the American Red Cross and Water Mission, two organizations currently assisting flood victims in Texas.
Aubrey is survived by her parents, her sisters Kylie and Amanda, brother-in-law Jason Kelce, and her three beloved nieces.
Funeral arrangements are pending, and a public memorial is expected to be announced in the coming days.
