Breaking News:Taylor Swift fan warns others about being ‘scammed’ when buying tour merchandise – but some Swifties disagree: ‘That’s not a scam’
A Taylor Swift fan has issued a warning to others interested in buying merchandise to be wary of the prices before purchasing.
In a TikTok video, the Swiftie revealed she’d been ‘overcharged’ after waiting hours at the merch stand in Sydney on Wednesday.
The fan, named Brittany, showed her followers the insane amount of items she purchased which included five of the same T-shirt, two of the same tote bag, a water bottle, five of the same hoodie as well as one zip hoodie.
‘So just got back from buying my Eras Tour merch,’ she began, stating that some of the items are for ‘friends who were at work’.
‘But I realised I got scammed over $300. Because instead of charging us for the five tees, they charged us five hoodies,’ she added.
The tees are $65 and the hoodies are $120. So the math ain’t mathing.’
Brittany then asked users and fans for advice on the matter now that she’s $360 out of pocket.
‘I don’t know what to do. Has anyone been overcharged by the Taylor Swift merch? Has anyone fallen victim to Taylor Swift merch?’ she continued.
‘I know it was obviously an accident, but I don’t know how to go about getting my money back. Because it’s a lot of money… $120 for a tee is just not what we wanted to spend.’
