BREAKING: Pop superstar Billie Eilish TORCHES ICE as “federally funded terrorist group” after Minneapolis killing. Billie Eilish just did what too many powerful people in Washington refuse to do — she told the truth — loudly. In the wake of the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by an ICE officer in Minneapolis, the nine-time Grammy winner used her massive platform to amplify what millions of Americans are already feeling. Enough is enough.
Pop superstar Billie Eilish has sparked widespread debate by publicly denouncing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as a “federally funded and supported terrorist group” in the wake of the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good.
The incident occurred on January 7, when Good, a U.S. citizen, mother of three, poet, and Minneapolis resident, was shot and killed by ICE agent Jonathan Ross during an immigration enforcement operation.
Federal authorities, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), have maintained that the shooting was in self-defense, claiming Good weaponized her SUV by accelerating toward officers.
However, widely circulated bystander and official video footage has fueled controversy, with local leaders—including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey—disputing the narrative and demanding ICE leave the city.
On January 9, Eilish used her massive Instagram platform to resharing activist posts condemning ICE.
One graphic she reposted declared: “ICE IS A FEDERALLY FUNDED AND SUPPORTED TERRORIST GROUP UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY THAT HAS DONE NOTHING TO MAKE OUR STREETS SAFER.”
Additional shares highlighted reports of 32 deaths in ICE custody in 2025, called for the agency to be abolished, and urged followers to contact Congress demanding defunding and the arrest of the involved officer.
Eilish, a nine-time Grammy winner known for her outspoken views on social issues, has previously criticized ICE raids in Los Angeles and endorsed progressive causes.
Her intervention amplified growing national outrage over the shooting, which has triggered protests across the U.S. and drawn responses from other celebrities and politicians.DHS swiftly pushed back, with an assistant secretary calling Eilish’s statements “garbage rhetoric” that endangers law enforcement, and insisting newly released footage supports their account of events.
The death of Good—a woman described by neighbors and officials as kind, community-oriented, and not an activist—has intensified scrutiny of ICE’s use of deadly force amid ongoing immigration operations under the current administration.
As demonstrations continue and investigations unfold, Eilish’s bold words have underscored a deepening divide over federal enforcement tactics. Enough is enough, she and many others appear to say—now the nation is listening.
