Eagle-eyed Taylor Swift fans spot ‘secret’ detail in engagement ring after Travis Kelce proposal

Taylor Swift’s sparkling new engagement ring may carry a hidden tribute to the early days of her romance with Travis Kelce.

After the couple announced their engagement with a series of romantic garden photos, fans quickly zoomed in on close-ups of Swift’s oval-cut diamond to inspect what appears to be the letter ‘T’ on the band.

According to eagle-eyed Swifties, the tiny detail appears on one side of the band and is most likely mirrored on the other, creating a subtle nod to the couple’s shared nickname, ‘TnT.’

The theory gained momentum after Swift herself captioned her post with a dynamite emoji, seemingly nodding to their explosive moniker.

This wouldn’t be the first time the 34-year-old has worked a hidden ‘TnT’ reference into her jewelry.

She previously wore a Tiffany & Co. ‘double T’ ring and frequently dons her custom $6,360 diamond ‘TNT’ friendship bracelet from Kelce while out in public.

TNT is believed to stand for ‘Taylor and Travis.’

While neither Swift nor Kelce have confirmed the design’s symbolism, speculation over the ring’s details, like who designed it and its cost spread rapidly online.

‘I noticed that the emblem on the top of her letter matches the shape of her engagement ring! What a gem! This whole scene is stunning!!!’ one wrote.

Another said: ‘Omg I GET the dynamite now!! Thank you i was so confused lol.’

Vogue reported that ‘Kelce worked with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry to design the ring.’

Amid the exciting news, Daily Mail reached out to jewelers to find out just how much the massive diamond costs and what makes it unique.

Diamond experts at UK jeweler Steven Stone estimated ‘Taylor’s ring to be worth $700,000.’

‘Her ring features a striking 12 carat cushion-cut diamond – an elongated shape with softly rounded corners that balances brilliance with a romantic, understated elegance. The stone sits in a yellow gold setting, paired with a simple, polished band that lets the diamond take center stage,’ he said.

Stone noted that in terms of the design, the ‘piece leans toward a vintage or antique-inspired aesthetic.’

‘The bold diamond, combined with the warm glow of yellow gold, gives it a timeless quality. It feels like a perfect match for Taylor. She often embraces vintage romance in her artistry, particularly during her Folklore and Evermore eras,’ he added.

Meanwhile, Nilesh Rakholia, jewelry expert and Founder of distinguished jeweler Abelini, valued the ring ‘between £750,000 and £1 million.’

The couple went public with their relationship in September 2023 when the singer appeared alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna, at a Kansas City Chiefs game.

Since that day their romance has captivated the world, with Swift supporting Kelce’s run to two Super Bowls while the NFL star has traveled alongside her around the globe on her wildly successful Eras tour.

The sports star’s close friend Patrick Mahomes was quick to congratulate the couple, sharing Swift’s post on Instagram with three heart emojis.

In the wake of the announcement, Swift, Kelce and her hit Love Story began trending.

Prior to Kelce, Swift was in a six-year romance with actor Joe Alwyn, 34, which ended in April 2023. She then briefly dated The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, 36.

The engagement news comes almost two weeks after Swift announced her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, on the Kelce brothers’ podcast, New Heights.

In her most candid chat ever, Swift admitted she thought Kelce was ‘crazy’ for asking her out so publicly.

The sportsman famously spoke on his podcast about attending one of Swift’s concerts in July 2023 and being disappointed when they couldn’t meet, revealing he’d even brought a friendship bracelet to give to her.

She compared Kelce to a John Hughes movie character, joking he was outside her window with a boombox yelling: ‘I wanna date you! Do you wanna go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet. Do you wanna date me?’

Swift said: ‘I was like, if this guy isn’t crazy — which is a big if — this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.’
