‘Floribama Shore’ star Kirk Medas dead at 33

“Floribama Shore” star Kirk Medas has died. He was 33.

His co-star Aimee Hall announced the news on Facebook Friday evening, writing, “We lost our brother, our best friend, our heart — Kirk.

“I was at the beach when I felt it. Before the call even came, a dolphin kept coming up to me, as if to say goodbye. Kirk and I shared a love for dolphins and the ocean, and in that moment, I just knew,” she explained

Though her “heart is shattered,” Hall, 32, finds “peace in knowing” her friend, who appeared on the MTV series from 2017 to 2021, is “no longer in pain.”

“He’s in heaven now — free, whole, and making everyone laugh the way only he could. Kirk had the kindest soul, a heart full of love for everyone he met, and a spirit that brought people together. He truly was the glue that held us all close,” she continued.

Hall admitted she will “never forget the moment they placed him on the ventilator, before the coma took hold.”

As “tears rolled from his eyes,” she told him she loved him.

“I already miss his voice, his laughter, his presence. The world feels a little dimmer without him — but I know I’ll see my best friend again someday,” she concluded. “Until then, I’ll carry him in my heart. Always.”

Medas had been in the ICU of a Miami hospital for two weeks after being diagnosed with a “severe case” of necrotizing pancreatitis and sepsis.

Necrotizing pancreatitis causes part of the pancreas to die, per Cedars-Sinai, while sepsis is described as the body’s extreme reaction to an infection that can result in organ damage or death.

On Thursday, Hall took to Instagram to share a shocking photo of Medas lying in a hospital bed, hooked up to various machines.

“The situation is incredibly serious,” she wrote in part before noting that co-star Nilsa Prowant, who was particularly close to Medas, “has been flying back and forth to Miami to be by his side.”

Hall shared that Medas “does not have medical insurance, and his sweet, strong mother has created a GoFundMe to help with the overwhelming expenses,” which include hospital bills and rehab.

“If you can’t [donate], your prayers mean just as much,” she pointed out, lamenting that she and Medas’ loved ones are “all hurting watching [their] brother fight this battle.”

The last time Medas posted on Instagram was April 15 when he uploaded a picture of himself posing on a balcony.

Following his time on “Floribama Shore,” which was a successor to “Jersey Shore,” Medas made appearances in shows like “Fear Factor” and Nick Cannon’s “Wild ‘n Out.”
