JUST IN: Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole joins forces with Toni Braxton in a move fans are calling a calculated swipe at the NFL star — and the fallout is shaking both the NFL and music world.
Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole appeared to make another dig at the NFL star and his romance with fiancee Taylor Swift – but this time, in a very public setting.
Nicole, who dated Kelce on and off for five years, left Swifties furious in October when they were convinced that her Halloween costume was a subtle swipe at the tight end.
She dressed up as R&B legend Toni Braxton and recreated the music video for her 2000 hit ‘He Wasn’t Man Enough For Me,’ which contains the lyric, ‘Do you know I dumped your husband, girlfriend?’
Nicole took to the stage alongside Braxton during the singer’s current tour run with New Edition and Boyz II Men.
Nicole was on stage at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and joined Braxton’s backup dancers as they wowed the crowd with the iconic choreography to He Wasn’t Man Enough For Me.
In video obtained by The Daily Mail, the model was spotted making a slight misstep early in the performance.
Nicole beamed as she soaked up the crowd’s reaction, and later claimed it was the ‘Best. day. EVER.’ in the comment section of Braxton’s post on Instagram.
Swift’s supporters tore into Nicole last Fall about her viral Halloween music video.
In the clip, she was seen performing the same choreography from the original music video as she mimed along to the lyrics: ‘Did you know about us back then? Do you know I dumped your husband, girlfriend?’
‘I’m not thinking ’bout him / But you married him / Do you know I made him leave?
‘Do you know he begged to stay with me? / He wasn’t man enough for me.’
Yet, despite a number of users suggesting it was a shot at Swift over Kelce, Nicole later stressed that she is ‘not in the business of tearing other women down’ after setting the record straight about her Halloween shoot.
‘Halloween is an opportunity for me not to be myself and to dress up as someone that I admire, someone that I’ve been a fan of, someone that I think is chef’s kiss,’ the 34-year-old said on her ‘The Pre-Game’ podcast.
‘You guys don’t want celebrities… to dress up as celebrities, but I’m confused because what am I supposed to do?’ she asked. ‘A doctor? Superwoman?’
Nicole then took aim at those who ‘try to project their own narratives’ before saying: ‘I’m not in the business of tearing other women down. I am in the business of celebrating them.’
The influencer’s tribute to Braxton came after speculation that Taylor dissed Travis’ ex on her new track Opalite – a song she’s admitted is about her fiance.
Lyrics in the song which read ‘You were in it for real, she was in her phone / And you were just a pose’ were quickly pegged as a dig at Nicole, who Kelce once publicly scolded for constantly being on her phone.
In one resurfaced clip, the Kansas City Chiefs icon is heard telling her: ‘Oh my God. Get off your phone… You’re not even drinking your wine anymore, can we go?’
Amid her rumored beef with Swift, Nicole was forced to delete her social media after a series of offensive posts, allegedly shared by her, emerged online.
The alleged posts were shared in 2010 and made use of ‘racist’ and ‘homophobic’ language, which was repeatedly used in reference to disenfranchised groups.
