Liam Payne’s ex-girlfriend Danielle Peazer reveals last message he sent to her weeks before his tragic death
Liam Payne’s ex-girlfriend Danielle Peazer — who dated the singer on and off from 2010 to 2013 — shared her grief over his death.
The professional dancer took to Instagram on Sunday to post a heartfelt letter to Payne, which revealed the last message he sent to her weeks before his sudden death at age 31.
“Receiving a message from you a couple of weeks ago expressing your happiness for the love I found with Sonny and Mia is something I’ll cherish forever,” Peazer wrote in part.
She is married to radio DJ Sonny Jay. They welcomed a daughter named Mia in May.
Peazer and Payne met during their time on “The X Factor” in 2010 and dated for several years until 2013 when their relationship fizzled out.
Elsewhere in her somber post, Peazer expressed gratitude to Payne for the lessons he passed onto her during their years-long friendship.
“Thank you for teaching me about the importance of setting boundaries, and that I should always protect my heart,” she wrote.
At the beginning of Peazer’s post, she also urged fans to recognize that Payne was more than a public personality and musician.
“Whilst we all take the time to navigate in a world without Liam, it’s important to remember that while he was adored by millions as a world famous musician for the last decade, he was also someone’s son and brother for more than 30 years, a friend to so many and more recently an uncle,” she wrote.
“His most important role and something he was the most proud of out of all of his monumental successes was that he was a father. The thought that there is a now a child growing up without one of their parents is heartbreaking and unfair.”
The “Teardrops” singer welcomed his son, Bear, now 7, with his ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole. Peazer then offered her condolences to Payne’s son, family and loved ones.
Peazer admitted Payne’s death “still doesn’t feel real” and that she “hoped and prayed that this day would never come.”
Payne — who rose to fame in the early 2010s with One Direction — fell from a third-floor balcony of his hotel room at CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Local police revealed that Payne’s fall resulted in “extremely serious injuries” and he died from multiple traumas that led to internal and external bleeding.
Police reportedly said he was under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs at the time of his death.
Just hours before his death, the “Strip That Down” singer shared photos and videos on Snapchat from his trip to Argentina with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy.
The influencer — who reacted to her boyfriend’s death on Instagram Friday — was first linked to Payne in October 2022.
