Olivier Giroud loses $500M in jewelry as LA home burglary makes him latest star to be targeted after Travis Kelce lost a property worth…π

In the latest in a string of burglaries that directly target high-profile athletes, French football star Olivier Giroud has had his house in Los Angeles broken into.
Giroud, 38, is currently preparing for Los Angeles FC’s MLS season opening game this Saturday.
However, according to TMZ Sports, his house in LA was broken into earlier this month.
According to police, Giroud’s wife, Jennifer, reported the break-in on February 5 when she discovered a broken window at the property – which the family just purchased in late September.
The report to police noted that a number of high-value items were stolen – including more than ten men’s watches.
In total, the value of the items that were taken from the house have been estimated around $500,000.
This is part of a pattern of robberies where precious items have been taken from the homes of superstar athletes in the United States.
At the end of last year, the FBI sent a warning out to American professional sports leagues about potential organized burglaries that are specifically targeting superstar athletes.
Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes had his house broken into back on October 6. 48 hours later, the home of his Chiefs teammate, Travis Kelce, had also been hit by thieves.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had his house broken into back in mid-December as he was playing a game on Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys.
Just last month, Pittsburgh Penguins hockey star Evgeni Malkin was robbed – with his three Stanley Cup championship rings swiped.
Homes are not the only thing that thieves are targeting. Late in December, a vehicle belonging to the fiancΓ©e of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was also hit by burglars.
In addition to Prescott, then-Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic also had his house robbed in late December.
Giroud joined LAFC over the summer in a move from Italian side AC Milan. In his first 19 games for the club, he bagged a pair of goals.
