Patrick Mahomes branded ‘a true psychopath’ for his Super Bowl suit before Chiefs face Philadelphia Eagles

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes headed to the Super Bowl on Sunday in a green suit – the color of the team he is facing in New Orleans, the Philadelphia Eagles.

The main man for the Chiefs was filmed by cameras leaving his team hotel looking suave in his midnight green suit and matching tie, but NFL fans were united in their surprise that he was dressed in the colors of the team he is focusing on beating.

‘Patrick Mahomes is pulling off the ultimate power move: He’s wearing a green suit to the Super Bowl,’ CBS reporter John Breech wrote on X as he shared the clip of Mahomes boarding the team bus.

Another fan replied to the footage that was rapidly circulated online saying: ‘Pat Mahomes pulling up in an Eagles green suit is certainly a statement.’

NFL analyst Nick Wright shared the clip and said: ‘Mahomes outfit choice is the behavior of a true psychopath and I fully support it.’

Another verdict read: ‘Mahomes is rocking an Eagles green double breasted suit. The gall. I love it.’

The quarterback was quick to ditch the suit when he arrived at the stadium, though – he was immediately out on the field in a Chiefs hoody and sweats to warm up for the season-defining game.

Mahomes is looking to lead his team to a third straight Super Bowl title on Sunday, which has never been done before in the NFL.

Victory on Sunday would be the fourth Super Bowl ring for Mahomes at the age of 29, leaving him firmly on the path to equal, or even beat, Tom Brady’s record tally of seven Super Bowl titles.

The Chiefs beat the Eagles in 2023 in Arizona to win the first title that set them on the path to the potential ‘three-peat’ that could be completed today.

Mahomes said earlier this week that Sunday’s Super Bowl will be the first game that his daughter, Golden Raye, has been taken to since she was born in January.

President Trump will also be in the stands Sunday – the first sitting President to ever attend a Super Bowl.

In an interview on Fox before the game, Trump said that he thinks the Chiefs will beat the Eagles due to Mahomes and his track record as a relentless winner up to now.

Mahomes’ wife Brittany got to New Orleans on Friday ahead of the showdown game and the couple joined Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift for dinner that night at a French restaurant.

There is increasing speculation that Kelce could retire after the game on Sunday.

The tight end, 35, said earlier this week that he could see himself playing football for another three years.

But a bombshell report Saturday night from NFL Insider Ian Rapoport said that Kelce is actually considering his future and that he will announce his decision by March 12 – the start of NFL free agency.

For what is potentially his final game, the 35-year-old Kelce rolled up in a flamboyant brown suit and sunglasses.
