“While COVID might have played a large role throughout your formative years, it is not unique,” he said. “The bad policies and poor leadership have negatively impacted major life issues. Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for the degenerate cultural values and media all stem from pervasiveness of disorder.”
Butker, a traditional Catholic whose faith is no secret on his social media platforms, has been outspoken in his stance on abortion and family life. In his speech, Butker shared with the graduates, specifically the women in attendance, how his wife has felt most fulfilled in her life being a homemaker.The Benedictine Sisters of Mt. St. Scholastica wrote in a statement on Thursday that they did not believe Butker’s comments represented “the Catholic, Benedictine, liberal arts college that our founders envisioned and in which we have been so invested.”
