Trump’s FBI pick Kash Patel finds out his fate after critical vote

Donald Trump’s pick to lead the FBI passed a crucial hurdle on Tuesday evening.
Kash Patel, 44, got enough support to advance his nomination to lead one of the most important government agencies.
A final vote for Patel is expected later this week as Trump shatters records on his Cabinet confirmation pace.
Patel’s nomination has caused drama in the Senate as Democrats have denounced him as ‘radical’ and a poor choice for the position.
Trump’s choice to lead the Commerce Department Howard Lutnick is also expected be confirmed on Tuesday.
With Lutnick’s approval, Trump will have officially outpaced Obama in 2009 and Biden in 2021 with a total of 17 confirmations in just 30 days.
The Senate on Tuesday voted to advance the nomination of Kash Patel to be the next FBI director.
The vote paves the way for Patel to be confirmed by the Senate.
It comes as Democrats have accused Patel of wanting retribution against Trump foes with a so-called ‘enemies list’ and claim he would do immense damage to the bureau he has been tapped to lead.
But Republicans have dismissed concerns about his judgement and lack of experience as they have moved to confirm even Trump’s most controversial nominees in recent weeks.
